Hit and miss

It starts out ok, gets a little blah here and there, but overall I had a great time with this. However, the moment that made it for me was the skit with Samus. "Happy birthday SAMUS! Self-destruct activated!" I swear, I laughed so hard, I peed just a little.

GOOOOOSE!

So, it started just a touch slow, and I was all "Alright, so, this is ok" and then it got crazy. Crazy awesome. So bizarre, and the music is a ton of fun!

Then the goose...the goose...
I nearly laughed myself out of my chair.

Delightful!

This is definitely my favorite of your animations thus far; it was much more concise -- less time between the crazy humor, which is great. The animation was delightful, you character design is different (in a good way) and you're sense of humor is really enjoyable.

I'm really impressed with the improvements you made in a little over a year (at the age of 17, at that!), and I am really excited to see where you go from here. I think you're definitely someone to keep an eye on!

Well, it wasn't bad...

I'm not a huge fan of the stickfight flashes, so take this as you will.

Of the stickfighting flash animations I've seen, most every one progresses like this...hero fights weaklings; hero fights a couple tougher folks; hero fights boss, struggles, wins. There was nothing really outside the mold here for me. Doesn't end there, either...

Background - a couple levels to fight on?! Wowwy zowwy... How about an background that is varied, interesting and can become part of the action (more so that just as a surface for bodies to land against).
Action - Just a little too repetitive for my taste. Lacked too much variety.
Sound effects - Why did it sound like breaking glass when he defeated an enemy? Was that intentional, and if so, I was just curious as to why. Also, some of the sounds were staticy, and I have some decent speakers

Enough complaining! Honestly, your animation was good and I liked a number of the things you did! I just like to criticize harshly, because what is a review for, if not to give creative criticism to the creator (because these reviews certainly aren't for the benefit of the viewers). I could spew meaningless praise, or actually care enough to take the time to write this. I think, if you really put your creative juices to work, you could come up with something original and awesome! Keep up the good work, and strive for excellence!

Thanks for the great review!

What you (and a lot of other people) have to keep in mind is that stick movies aren't supposed to have a plot. If we wanted a plot, drama, or something of that nature we would add faces and much more detail to the characters. Given that this is a stick movie, and its sole purpose is to make cool looking fights, then there is no need for a plot. This is probably why a lot of people do not like these type of movies, because they have to be "one with the characters".

The action I guess was a little too repetitive, which is why I'll probably be adding a better variety of attacks and the use of weapons for my next Flash. The background is also going to be enhanced.

As for the sounds, in my opinion they're great. There are a lot of stick fights that include the static/glass breaking sound effects and I got inspired by them, and I'll probably keep using them. People have mixed opinions when it comes to these, but I personally like the sounds.

Again, nice review, thanks for your opinion. ^^

Thank the devil!

I must stress the importance of this becoming a series, or at the very least having a sequel or two. I can't stop watching this and laughing my ass off! Absolutely delightful, Chris!

Creative and fun!

I really love the world you've created here! It has its own interesting qualities. My one request would be to see even more of it. A difficult task when working within the time constraints of a song, but I felt like even more of this fascinating setting could have been exploited.

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't comment on the odd bit of pathos at the end. I suppose I shall avoid spoiling what happens for the 1 person who reads down to this review before watching, but I just felt that we didn't have enough time or reason to connect with that character. It wasn't a terrible thing, but it just felt a little odd trying to add that at the end of such a fun video.

Still, any of these complaints are minor. All in all, I love seeing a unique, fantastic world like this come to life! The animation was good, the music fun and the idea delightful. I look forward to seeing more of you work!

Oh noes! It's different...

Ok all you "haters" out there, seriously, what the heck?! Complaints to be addressed...

1.) "This is offensive to other religions." No it isn't. No one is forcing them to watch it, and somehow I doubt they care that someone else expresses their own belief.

2.) "This doesn't belong on Newgrounds!" Umm...what?! Newgrounds isn't just a site for obscene, funny shenanigans. "EVERYTHING, by everyone!"

So please, don't just rate it based on "Boo hoo, I'm not religious and/or it isn't funny, therefore it is worthless." Rate it based on how you would rate anything else.

Now then,
Guys, nice flash. The animation style was nice, and even though the splashes of blue on the paper background were a little distracting, I enjoyed the look. The effect on the narration could have been dialed back a lot, though. It detracted a little. Otherwise it was short but enjoyable. Keep up the good work!

Nothing too new, but fun.

I think I'll start with what I liked and work my way down.

The Animation - I really enjoy your style, and the motion, while all pretty simple, was good.

The Script - It's a little dull and cliché, but gets the job done well enough. The way the shrink reacted when his patient saw the drawing was great!

The Music - While the music didn't overpower the flash, it didn't feel quite right. This may just be my preference, but the music just didn't seem to fit the setting.

The Voice Acting - Well, both of the voices were clear and the sound quality wasn't bad, but the actual acting was lacking. The Shrink was too dull, and sounded like you just used a pitch change to make him sound older. I understand he isn't suppose to be really engaged in the conversation, but he comes off too flat. The patient was better, but still seemed to lack any real degree of emotion. He just sort of hovered around one vocal area the entire time.

Overall, I think you have some good stuff here; it just needs refinement. Keep it up!

point noted thanks for the feedback. the whole animation was put together in 2 days so i knew it would be lacking in some areas. when i recorded the voices i was acually on my laptop on a headset trying not to wake up my daughter in the same room so i can understand if i couldnt get the emotion they way i really wanted and could do. But yes thank you again I'll keep everything in mind and have a couple more on the way that I hope you will enjoy ^-^

Fun stuff!

I enjoyed the animation and the fluidity of it all quite a bit. Nothing incredible, but well done. The one thing that bothered the heck out of me was the circular flash/aura surrounding characters after they shot. It felt really out of place and just didn't look right to.

Keep up the good work!

Makes more sense than the movie!

And the acting is better too! Hurray for 3rd graders!
